Yoga with Newborn

Nurturing Both Body and Bond

Yoga with newborn is something I wanted to try after giving birth. Observing all those yoga photos with babies and mamas in yoga asanas I finally found some time and inspiration to organize the practice.

Yoga with a newborn is something I wanted to try after giving birth. Observing all those yoga photos with babies and mamas in yoga asanas I finally found some time and inspiration to organize the practice. And, however, there was not much yoga in practice, but we definitely had fun.

Yoga is a great way to relax and stay fit. After having a newborn, finding time for yoga can be challenging. However, practicing yoga can benefit both the mother and the baby. Here are some tips to help you get started:

  • Start slow: It's important to start slow and gradually increase the intensity of your yoga practice. You may not be able to do all the poses you used to do before your baby was born, so be patient with yourself.
  • Find a comfortable space: Find a comfortable space in your home where you can practice yoga with your baby. Make sure the space is quiet and free from distractions.
  • Use props: Props such as blankets, pillows, and blocks can help you modify poses and make them more comfortable for you and your baby.
  • Involve your baby: You can involve your baby in your yoga practice by holding them during certain poses or placing them on a blanket next to you. This can help you bond with your baby while also getting some exercise.
  • Listen to your body: It's important to listen to your body and not push yourself too hard. If you feel any discomfort or pain, stop the pose and rest.
  • Be flexible: Your baby's needs may change from day to day, so be flexible with your yoga practice. If your baby needs your attention, take a break and come back to your practice later.

Practicing yoga with a newborn is a great way for new mothers to relax, regain their strength and flexibility, and bond with their babies. By starting slow, finding a comfortable space, using props, involving your baby, and listening to your body, you can create a yoga practice that works for you and your baby. And you can definitely have fun 😀
